Aboard the Horn O’ Plenty, the sick and injured are treated without the benefits of modern surgery or medicine. In cases where the casualty is sick enough that without treatment they will perish they are often transported to the Ark II as they might have a better chance there.
For most cases however, the medbay heals them with a combination of aged wisdom and herbal remedies grown out of the soil above deck. Poultices and medicinal plants form the majority of treatment options available to any patients within the Horn O’ Plenty. As such, rates of successfully treating illness vary wildly depending on the wisdom of whoever is currently staffed.
Doctors aboard the Sleipnir and Ark II have grown concerned over the lack of evidence for herbal healing and feel that this superstition could have come from earthborn sentiments and pseudo science.
